Will Davila

Award winning author William Davila writes bestselling fantasy books including the Footprints of the Dragon and The Staff of Fire and Ice series. Even before becoming a bestselling author, his imagination ran wild with tales of dragons, knights, and fare maidens as he ran through the hills of beautiful Appaloosa Plains.

Having graduated from Appaloosa State University with a dual degree in Creative Writing and Literature, Will continues to delight readers with his tales from the comfort of his home in Island Paradise where he the waves, sand, and refreshing breezes inspire him.

Emily Rivers

Growing up with two marine biologists who often carted her off to their work, Emily became a lover of aquatic animals, learning, and of passing on her gained knowledge. It's her desire to teach that led her to study Education at Island Paradise College and then become a kindergarten teacher at Paradise Elementary School.

It's her family and students who keep her rooted on her home island, but every once in a while she can be spotted looking towards the horizon, wondering what other sights and experiences await her if she had the courage to leave it all behind.

Donovan Baxter

Donovan's love of photography started at an early age and one of his first prized possessions was a camera that his parents gave him on his seventh birthday. It was with their encouragement that he applied to Appaloosa State University to study photography and met his lifelong best friend, Will Davila.

Always having a camera hung around his neck or in his hands meant that he was the "go to" guy for yearbook pictures in his younger years, but his real love doesn't lie with taking pictures of smiling faces, it's in traveling and capturing the beauty of the world around him.

Samantha Young

It was best friends at first sight when Samantha and Emily met in their preschool class, giving each of them what they desperately wanted, a "sister" in their sometimes lonely world as only children. Their long friendship/sistership has made the joyous moments even brighter and carried them through the trying and stressful times, including their years studying Education at Island Paradise College and the years since as teachers at Paradise Elementary.

Trev Davila

Before graduating from Appaloosa State University, Will and his twin brother Trevor hadn't been separated from each other for more than a couple of nights. That all changed when Will moved to Island Paradise to continue his writing career and Trev settled in Bridgeport to begin his life as an NFL quarterback.

As each settle into their new lives in different places, they worry about the others ability to find their way and being there for each other when times are bad, leading them to question whether living so far apart is the wisest decision for both of them.
